Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

June 19th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Elizabeth Marks Im sure youre heard the saying good things come to those who wait. Its true and its biblical. Look at Romans 2:7-8 NKJV eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousnessindignation and wrath. Can you think of good things you had to wait for? How about a college degree? Was a college degree simply handed to you one day? No. You earned it by enduring many hours of studying, taking classes and tests. As a result, you completed the steps to obtain the degree. How about a baby? Once you decide to have a baby, did you become pregnant right away? Not usually, because it takes the right timing for your egg and your spouses sperm to come together making a baby. After the egg and sperm meet, did the baby just pop out? Of course not, it took 9 months to grow into a fully developed baby. Why then do we assume when we get married well live happily ever after with no difficulties? This is ridiculous. But Im sad to say I found myself there at one time. As a result my marriage relationship was not doing so well. Good things come to those who wait. Yes, but thats only half the story. Good things come to those who work at it. A good marriage doesnt just happen. Its takes time to develop. In the Lesson 4 of the Sacred Marriage Bible Study Gary Thomas mentions that it takes couples 10 to 15 years for a couple to finally stop thinking of themselves as individuals and to begin thinking of themselves as a unified we. Did you ever stop to think about that? It takes a long time for us to understand our new roles and identities once were married. The Bible says the two shall become one flesh. That word become indicates a process that takes time. Every marriage is bound to have difficulties. Thats a fact of life when two sinners attempt to live together for the rest of their lives. Look at what the Bibles teaches us on how to approach lifes difficulties. James 1:2-4 NKJV My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Difficulties in life help us mature, if we allow them too. Hang in there when you find yourself in a rough patch. Its gets better and if youre open to it you might learn something from the experience. Dont give up during difficulties in marriage. Anyone can do that. Youve got God on your side and Hell help you endure the difficult parts and grow you in the process. Speaking from personal experience, my husband and I once were on the verge of divorce. However, with perseverance, we stuck out the difficulties of our marriage. As a result, we were blessed with renewed hearts, restored marriage and a second child! Weve been married now for almost 19 years and Im happy to say Im glad we decided to persevere. Lord, thank you for your goodness. Thank you for saving good things for those who persevere. Help us during the difficulties of life turn to you that we may become mature. Thank you for your blessings that come when we seek you diligently through the rough patches in life. Vitamins and Nutritions for Your Family

June 15th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Liza Othman Nearly 20 vitamins that are known or believed to be important to human well-being have thus far been discovered. A few more vitamins are known to be important to such creatures as fish, chickens, or insects, but not to people. When you eat a variety of food you are pretty sure of getting a well-rounded assortment of the vitamins you needexcept perhaps vitamin D. And you may also be getting other vitamins still undetected in food, but serving you just the same. Separate doses of one or more selected vitamins are best taken under doctors’ orders. For research is showing more and more instances in which a vitamin or other nutrient seeks a different nutrient in a meal as a special partner to assist in its work. When a vitamin pill brings in a mass army, the right partners may not be ready to use so much specialized help. The following vitamins are of practical importance in planning family meals. Vitamin A Vitamin A is important to the young for growth. And at all ages it is important for normal vision, especially in dim light. In one way or another, many vitamins help protect the body against infection, and vitamin A’s guard duty is to help keep the skin and the linings of nose, mouth, and inner organs in good condition. If these surfaces are weakened, bacteria can invade more easily. You can get vitamin A from some animal foods. Good sources are liver, egg yolks, butter, whole milk and cream, and cheese made from whole milk or cream. Fish-liver oils which children take for vitamin D are rich in vitamin A besides. From many vegetable foods you can get carotenes, which are yellow-orange substances that the body converts into vitamin A. Green, yellow, and some red vegetables are good sources of carotene. One good reason for including a vegetable from the “leafy, green, and yellow group” every day is to keep stocked with this vitamin. Margarine, a vegetable fat, is nearly always fortified with vitamin A or carotene. Some vitamin A can be stored in the body. So it is to your advantage to eat heartily of foods that provide for it, such as the green and yellow vegetables. A savings account of vitamin A in your system may be drawn upon, if in any emergency this vitamin is wanting in the diet. The B-vitamin family There was once supposed to be just one vitamin B. Then, vitamin B was found to be complex and it has in time been separated into about a dozen vitamins, each with particular duties and importance. Most of them are now called by names that tell something about their chemical nature. Thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin are the most generally known and best understood B’s. Getting enough of these in food helps with steady nerves, normal appetite, good digestion, good morale, healthy skin. When these B’s are seriously wanting in diet, malnutrition ills such as beriberi and pellagra follow. But far more common in this country are borderline cases. The chronic grouch, the lazybones, the nervous man, the housewife with vague complaints, may be showing effects of food providing too little of these important B’s. Recently identified B’s are folic acid and vitamin B12, both important for healthy state of the blood. Folic acid and B12 are being used medically with success in treating two hard- to-cure diseasespernicious anemia and sprue. Few foods contain real wealth of B vitamins, but in a varied diet many foods contribute some and so build an adequate supply. One way to make sure of raising your B level is to use regularly bread and flour that have been made from whole grain or that have been enriched so as to restore important B vitamins. Getting ample milk in diet is important for B’s, too, and for riboflavin in particular. B vitamins play a part in converting fuel in foods into energy. It follows that any one who eats large quantities of starches and sugars also requires more food containing B vitamins. Types Of Palm Trees

June 7th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Kevin Stith There are more than 2,500 species of palm trees in different parts of the world and most are available in the United States. Some of the most common species found in Florida and California include the Florida Royal Palm, coconut palms and the Canary Island Date Palm. According to the structure of the leaves, palms are classified as palmate or fan shaped, pinnate or feather shaped and bipinnate. The only palm under bipinnate is the fish tail palm that carries the Caryota genus. Yet another classification of palms is named for their ability to survive extreme weather conditions like cold and drought. Cold hardy palm trees can withstand very cold winters and are the most common type of palms found in America. The drought hardy palm can survive on very small amounts of water. In America, palm trees come in two different varieties — Southern Palms and Northern Palms. The northern palms are cold hardy and can withstand extreme winter temperatures. The Pakistan Palm, Needle Palm, Saw Palmetto and the Windmill Palm are examples of cold hardy palms. They can be grown in minus temperatures but need adequate cold protection. The southern palms are found in southern parts of the United States and in coastal regions. They thrive well in saline soils and are best replanted during summers. The Cabbage Palm reaches an average height of 40-50 feet and is found in North America and South America. It is a flexible and adaptable outdoor variety that requires large quantities of water immediately after transplantation. The Fish Tail Palm is native to southern Florida and southern California and thrives well in almost all varieties of sun and shade conditions. They do require fertile soils and reach an average height of 15-25 feet and an average width of 3 to 4.5 meters. To reach their average height of 60 feet, the Canary Island Date Palms need plenty of sunlight and survive well in well-drained, moist soils. They are native to Central Florida, Southern Louisiana and Texas and coastal California. The Florida Royal Palm leaves average around 36 inches and grow as tall as 50-80 feet. They require acidic soils and good sunshine and grow fast in well-fertilized soils. Federal Prison Report

June 1st, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Jason A. Martin Recently the Federal Bureau of Prisons released an update of their prison population, which included breakdowns of race, sex, sentences and offenses. Currently, there are 189,984 inmates in the United States federal prison system. The breakdown of the information is at times typical and yet surprising other times. Did you know that the average age of a federal inmate is 38? Federal prisons, as you might know, are located all around the United States. The prisons are divided into minimum, low, medium and high (also known as maximum) security. By far men are convicted of more crimes than women. Women account for just 6.7% of the entire federal prison population. They do make up 27.6% of the federal prison staff. The most common race of federal inmates is Black, followed by Hispanic (classified as white) and white non-Hispanic. Native Americans account for 1.8% of the population and Asians round out the list at 1.6%. There are currently 31,891 Mexican citizens serving time in the federal prison system. The majority of inmates are locked up in low and medium security prisons. Only 10.3% of the federal inmate population is serving time in high security prisons. 18.7% are serving time in minimum-security locations. While the news routinely talks about how the government is soft on immigration, the stats provided by the Federal Bureau of Prisons show that at least some enforcement is happening. There are 18,886 (10.8%) inmates in the federal system doing time for immigration related offenses. A strong majority of inmates are serving time for drug related offenses. Weapons, Explosives and Arson offenses are a distant second. Just over half of the entire federal inmate population is being incarcerated for drug related offenses. Most of those incarcerated are serving between 5 and 15 years. Only 3.1% of the population has a life sentence and a miniscule 38 have death sentences. 5-10 years is the most common sentence. Close to 30% of the inmates are serving a sentence of this length. There are 3,657 sex offenders serving time in federal prisons. Countless others get out and renege on their obligations of release. Only 72.8% of those held in federal prisons are American citizens. Given all of this information, the average federal prison inmate is a minority male in his 30s serving 5-15 years for a drug related offense. Jason A. The Bridal Registry: A Beginner’s Guide

May 29th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Max Bellamy A bridal registry is a service offered by department stores to newlywed couples. This is a system that allows a couple to manage and keep track of the purchases of gifts for their wedding. A Chicago-founded department store pioneered the institution of offering bridal registries as a service for newlywed couples. Since then, the concept has turned into a popular service of many department stores. This service is also offered by large home-improvement retailers. The bridal registry begins with a list of items the couple wishes to receive as wedding gifts, made from the items available in the participating stores. This list is then provided to their wedding guests. There are different ways of implementing this service that allow participating stores to provide the couple’s wish list to their guests and to assure effective management of the wedding gifts. Some registries track more details than others. Each participating department store updates its list as a gift is purchased, and the item is then removed from the couple’s wish list. This prevents the guests from giving the couple more than one of the items on the list. Bridal registries can be greatly efficient for the couple to be married. It is also convenient for guests who usually have a difficult time making a decision about what to buy for the newlyweds. Bridal registries, though very popular, are not always well-received. Some people perceive it as a modern practice done in bad taste. This is especially true when it comes to older, more traditional guests. Soliciting gifts negates the traditional notions on gift-giving that many people still value so dearly. The use of bridal registries also does away with some traditional gift-giving concepts such as “being thankful for whatever you receive” and the surprise element, which many still enjoy. Moreover, many people view bridal registries as a type of competition because prices of the presents are known. This also has led to the more controversial practice of couples asking guests to give money instead of presents. Get Secured, Get Secured Debt Consolidation Loan

May 26th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Maria_Smith]Maria Smith Very often situation compels you to take different loans for different purposes. As long as you are able to repay the loaned amount in time it is ok. But the real problem occurs when you fail to repay it. Subsequently, you fall under the grasp of debts and bankruptcy. The need to repay the amount of loan in time, with their rate of interest gives you nothing but the sleepless nights and trouble some days. Considering this, lending organizations are now giving a chance to borrower to repay their loaned amount through a loan which is easy, convenient and accessible to all persons. It is all about secured debt consolidation loan, perfect choice for all people sinking in large number of debts. Before analyzing secured debt consolidation loan, lets see what is meant by debt consolidation. Debt consolidation is the way through which a borrower consolidates all unpaid debts into one single manageable loan. Suppose a borrower has taken four different loans from four different lenders. Now by consolidating all his loans into one, he will get an opportunity to pay only on single loan to a single creditor, instead of various loans to various creditors. Now, secured debt consolidation loan can be accessed just by placing collateral against the loaned amount. It could be any asset of borrower i.e. a home, car, jewellery or something related to these. This asset actually works as a security on behalf of the borrower. As mentioned earlier, this loan is simple, easily accessible and convenient. It is because of the fact that here, a borrower gets the flexibility of applying a large sum of money and repaying the loaned amount in a wider time frame. Generally, these kinds of loans are offered within a range of 5,000 to 75,000, which is repayable within 5-25 years. As these loans are offered against collateral, therefore, lenders often charge lower rate of interest, which is again another greatest advantage of secured loan. But it is not free of faults. If the borrower fails to repay the loaned amount in time, he can even lose his valuable property. But it is not going to happen, if the borrower has full confidence over him and his repayment ability. You can access these loans from different lending institutions, banks and financial organizations. But if you are looking for something better than these, then online method is the right pick for you. Here, you can access datas rapidly, work on informations swiftly and apply for loan aptly. Maria Smith has not been writing articles from the beginning. But the increase in perplexing loans information has urged her to write on different loans types. So she writes in a way that is logical, comprehensive and understandably meant to cater to the need of general public who is left breathless while searching for loans. Outdoor Stone Fireplaces - The Perfect Gathering Place

May 17th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Terry Edwards If you want to transform the outdoor area of your home into a warm and friendly gathering place, then consider adding an outdoor stone fireplace. The beauty and elegance that this kind of fireplace gives is simply incredible. Stone fireplaces made from natural stone or a number of other outdoor materials, make for the perfect area to entertain family or friends. Stone is also the perfect material for an outdoor fireplace. It’s fire retardant, strong, and extremely long lasting. Other types of stone used with these types of fireplaces include marble, sandstone, granite, stucco, and cast coral. You can even mix several of these materials together and use different sizes in designing your own one of a kind fireplace for your home. Another aspect of an outdoor stone fireplace is its ability to withstand all types of weather conditions. From summer heat to the freezing winter temperatures these fireplaces stand strong, making them the perfect compliment to a backyard pool or patio area. You can find these outdoor fireplaces in gas, electric or of course, wood burning. Is there anything better than tossing another log onto the fire while sitting around with friends? While wood burning fireplaces are the least expensive, gas fireplaces also make for good choices. You can find all types of outdoor fireplaces, from prefabricated to masonry, among many others as well. Where Can I Meet Someone I Want To Date?

May 14th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Nocita Carter Good question! You know theres lots of places you could meet someone youd like to date. Whats important here is that you dont limit yourself on where you can meet someone. Go with how you feel, and if it feels right to you at that moment, then go for it! What do you have to loose? Jackie was down in the dumps because she hadnt met anyone since her break-up with Matthew six months ago. She had dated Matthew for almost two years and they decided to go their own separate ways because they felt after two years they really werent compatible. They also discovered that their marriage goals were different. Jackie wasnt ready to settle down and have kids and Matthew was ready to get married and start a family. What’s Next? A Guide to Marketing Your New Business

May 9th, 2008 by joannemuldoon

By Michelle Payne-Gale Coming up with an idea, seizing the opportunity, and setting up a business was the relatively easy part. Now you are ready for the challenge of finding your customers, or at least make it easy for your customers to find you. Here are some tips for marketing your new and growing business. Know & Understand your Customers Find out or decide who your customers will be. Then find out as much as possible about them. Consider the needs of customers, and make sure your business or product fulfils those needs. Look at factors such as where they live, their age, their gender, how much they earn, their interests and pastimes. Detailed knowledge of your customers will help you to be more precise in your marketing. Reach your Customers There are many different types of media out there. Choose and use a media that you know will reach your target audience, and is preferred by them. Consider approaching newspapers and magazines if you feel you have a good story, ideally involving a reference to your business, a planned event, or a special offer. Convey a message that will be of value to the reader and editor this will promote interest in you and your business/product at the same time. Avoid blatant advertising. If you are limited to, or looking to target local audiences in a specific geographical area, consider producing flyers and placing adverts in shop windows. Television and radio advertising are the more expensive methods, and are designed to reach audiences on a mass scale. However, the returns are normally very small in comparison to the expense. Highlight your Benefits Most customers will focus on the value and convenience of choosing your product or service, before they will consider the actual features of that product or service. Therefore, it is important for your marketing campaign to concentrate on selling the benefits, before the features. Features are best marketed when linked directly to a great benefit. For example, a small business selling their own brand of home computers would make a greater first impact by focusing less on features such as 2.3Ghz processors, 1GB RAM, 100GB Hard Disk, and 128MB Graphics cards, and focus more on the benefits of faster performance, ideal for multitasking, plenty of storage and great for games and photo editing. Use the Internet Of all the available mediums, the Internet puts businesses on the most equal footing. Your image and appearance on the Internet represents your business this can be understated and straight-to-the-point, or it can be flashy and highly interactive. It is best that it matches your style of business, but you are not restricted if you wish to invest in making a big splash. The Internet should be used to support your other forms of marketing, unless your business is specifically suited to the online market. If you are able to create a website for your business, do so as soon as possible. If you cannot do this yourself, pay for someone to create one for you, as it will be a worthy investment if used correctly. Use other methods, such as joining newsgroups or forums related to your business or product, sign up to business networking communities, give free advice and answer questions. It will attract others to your offering (as everyone wants something for free), while building trust in you and confidence in your product and expertise. Avoid using these for blatant advertising, unless the forum specifies that this is acceptable. Otherwise, you may be asked to leave and your reputation could be damaged in that field. Be Consistent Unless you have a product or service that everyone needs and no one else offers, your marketing efforts will need to be ongoing. Your audience needs to hear about you and your offering over and over again before they are ready to acknowledge and accept you. Therefore, be consistent with your marketing methods. Avoid deviating dramatically between mediums, as this can confuse customers, or cause you to lose others who only focus on one of your selected mediums. Make sure you know how much, and how often you can spend, when working out your marketing budget. Dont plough money into campaigns that you cannot afford to maintain. For example, an expensive, one-page spread in a glossy magazine will look nice and catch the eye, but unless you can afford to do this every week or month, the readers will quickly forget you. Choose a method that you can afford to repeat as often as is necessary to get yourself noticed (i.e.: flyers, local adverts, attending networking events). Otherwise, you may find that your marketing budget is used up before youve made an impact. Measure & Review your Campaigns Make sure you are able to measure the outcomes of your efforts. Items for measurement could be sales, number of enquiries, number of new clients, level of customer spend per occasion, for example. If you choose to run a campaign in a publication, consider adding a reference number to the piece, requiring the customer to quote this reference when contacting you. If using contact forms on a website, request the customer advise you on how they heard about you. For each marketing campaign you undertake, use your chosen measurement tools to assess the effectiveness of that campaign. This will help you to refine your future efforts to get the best results. Even when you think you have perfected your campaigns, continue to review on a regular basis to accommodate any changes in the market and its buying behaviour. Marketing is important to every business, and when used appropriately for your chosen customers, the returns can be very rewarding. Consider these tips when putting together the basis of your marketing plan.
